At 98mm underfoot, the HardSide is the narrowest ski built with the Hybritech sidewall construction. A few short years ago, it would have been considered a powder ski, and it certainly won't disappoint on the deep days. However, it's designed for skiers who's off piste playgrounds consist more of cut up crud and firm snow than bottomless powder, so we gave it slight shovel rocker for versatility, and a powerful metal laminate construction for precision, stability and edge hold.

With a balanced flex, very low camber, thin profile and long radius tip and tail make this ski perfect in the deep snow. Traditional construction with vertical sidewalls and a wood core keeps the ski strong, powerful and playful.

The COOMBack. Coombs was the consummate adventure skier. He was equally happy ticking off first decents in teh Chugach via helicopter, as he was skinning to the top of Antarctica's Mt. Vinson. Consequently, he needed skis that delivered solid edge hold and stability at speed, but were also light enough for touring. To accomplish that, K2 retained teh powder top, progressive sidecut and bouyant 102 waist that gave the original Coomba superior predictability in erratic conditions. Then we added slight shovel rocker to give it quicker initation and better versatility. We think Doug would be proud.
A percentage of all COOMBBack ski sales will be donated to the Coombs family. K2 will also donate a portion of the proceeds to the American Moutain Guide Associations Chad Vanderham Endowment which is focused on improving guide education and safety.

Seth wanted his ski to feature the best of both worlds, Rocker and camber. His modified tip and tail Rocker design elevates floatation in soft snow and increases adaptability in crud and chopped up snow conditions. The Progressive Sidecut and regular camber underfoot give the obSETHed the overall advantage over other skis, providing quicker aggressive turn initiatino on hardpack snow, but an easy smooth tail release in soft conditions. Good for Seth,and mere mortals as well.
